The faces of Derrinstown

Stephen Collins

General Manager

Stephen started in the business at his family’s Corbally Stud. He began his professional tenure at the English National Stud Manager’s Course, and went on to work with Melinda Smith’s Pegasus Stud in Lexington and the Airdrie Stud of Brereton C Jones.

Derrinstown constantly strive to provide breeders with a boutique selection of top quality stallions each possessing excellent racecourse performance, outstanding physical conformation with quality pedigrees. Our long standing policy has always been to competitively price our stallions whilst strictly limiting their mare numbers. Never has this been as important particularly in these economically turbulent times. Your success is our success!

Jimmy Lenehan

Manager

Jimmy began his career as assistant to his late father Jimmy, who trained horses at the Curragh for over twenty years. From there he filled a similar position with Kevin Prendergast for five years. He went on to hold managerial positions with both Gilltown and Kildangan Studs. He also spent two and a half years in Hokkaido, Japan, managing a pre-training centre for the Shimokobe family.

We endeavour everyday at Derrinstown to achieve and maintain the highest standards so that all our clients will receive an excellent and friendly service.
